Todd Wooten Invited to Join International Association of Defense Counsel

Dover Dixon Horne would like to congratulate member Todd Wooten for being invited to join the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC).

“I am humbled accept the invitation to join the International Association of Defense Counsel,” Wooten said. “This prestigious organization is comprised of the world’s leading corporate and insurance attorneys, and I’m eager to learn from them to better serve my clients.”

Throughout his 23-year career, Wooten has an abundance of trial experience and credits his ability to achieve positive outcomes for clients to his commitment to preparation and dedication to understanding his clients’ unique circumstances. As a veteran commercial trial lawyer, Wooten has successfully managed complex litigation and negotiated dispute resolutions for individuals and businesses in a variety of industries, ranging from insurance, health care, finance and construction to transportation and real estate, among others.

The organization was created in 1920 by a group of general counsels, calling themselves the General Counsels’ Association of the United States. It was created to foster good will and cooperation among general counsel who shared common interests and challenges. In 1928, the members invited leading lawyers to join, seeking to gain broader insight into the various legal issues affecting the insurance industry. The Association changed its name to the International Association of Insurance Counsel (IAIC) to reflect the new membership and focus.

The process to join the IADC is extensive, as outside counsel nominations require one IADC member to nominate the individual and two IADC members to sponsor the individual. Once nominations are complete, they are reviewed by the Membership Committee, which seeks input from members in the nominee’s state or region.
