Education: Vanderbilt University, B.A., 1971; University of Arkansas, J.D., with honors, 1974.

Member: Arkansas Bar Association (Member & Past Chairman, Section of Taxation), American Bar Association (Member, Section of Taxation, State and Local Tax Committee).

Practice Areas: State and Local Taxation, Business Law, Regulatory Issues.

Biography: Serves as a member and periodically as Chairman of the Arkansas Tax Advisory Council created by the Arkansas Legislature as a forum for interaction with the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration on legislative and administrative issues, and has served as a private sector representative for Arkansas in the Streamlined Sales Tax Project. Other organizational activities include service as tax counsel and legislative resource on tax issues for the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce and Associated Industries of Arkansas. Previous service also includes appointment to the Arkansas Multistate Tax Compact Advisory Council. Mike is a past Chairman of the Section on Taxation of the Arkansas Bar Association and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in Tax Law. He is the author of the Arkansas chapter of the American Bar Association's Sales and Use Task Deskbook, is a regular contributor to Council on State Taxation (COST) national tax programs and is a frequent speaker and author of articles on Arkansas tax issues.
