Cal McCastlain, a member of the firm, has more than 25 years experience in corporate, business, and tax law, including work in agriculture matters. Mr. McCastlain serves as general counsel for corporate clients, including quasi public and special purpose agribusiness entities.

Mr. McCastlain was admitted to the Arkansas bar in 1984 after graduating from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Bowen School of Law. While on active duty in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps, Mr. McCastlain received his Masters in Tax Law in 1988 from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington D.C. He is a member of the Arkansas Bar Association as well as the American Bar Association. McCastlain also is a member of the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants and is a Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

As Director of the Arkansas Rice Depot (Food Bank), he works to streamline interaction between production agriculture and hunger relief efforts. Mr. McCastlain is a past President of the Agricultural Council of Arkansas. He represented the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture on the Council for Agricultural Research Extension and Teaching (CARET). 

McCastlain is a retired colonel in the Arkansas Army National Guard Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAGC). 

Mr. McCastlain and his wife, Heather, have three children – Cal Jr., William and Margeaux. His house is a pet-friendly zone as there is always at least one dog in the family! When he’s not at the office, McCastlain enjoys hunting and boating.
